I know its been while since I’ve posted anything up here but a LOT has happened and it would be a massive understatement to say that I’ve been busy. The biggest change has been that I’ve returned to the workforce. I accepted a position as a staff photographer at The Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau and have (almost) relocated from Kansas City.
It would be another understatement to say that I’m excited to be back on staff at a paper, a big one. I’m finally not the only photographer on staff and my first day on the job I got handed a box with a brand, spanking new D700. Its been so long since I’ve used a new camera I can’t even remember. Not to say that turning to the dark side hasn’t been without some hickups. I’ve been using my Mk IIns for so long that getting the proper exposure is intuitive and getting used to a different camera has caused me to blow some shots but a few weeks in I’m getting comfortable with my new gear, I almost always twist the lens the right way taking it on and off now.
I’ve got a lot of stuff to post and I’m really going to try and be more consistent about putting stuff up but for right now here are some of my favorite images/assignments from my first month here. I’m going to talk about these assignments in a bit more in depth soon so consider this a teaser post.
